Bertie Baigent is Director of Music at St Marylebone Parish Church where he was previously Assistant Director of Music and Organ Scholar.  He read music at Jesus College Cambridge where he held the organ scholarship, before completing a master’s in orchestral conducting at the Royal Academy of Music.  Apart from his work at St Marylebone, Bertie is Music Director of Waterperry Opera Festival and Assistant Conductor of the CBSO, and his varied musical career has taken him around the world, recently seeing him conduct orchestras including the New Japan Philharmonic, St Louis Symphony Orchestra, Teatro Regio Torino, and Royal Scottish National Orchestra.  Bertie’s compositions have been widely performed internationally (including world premieres by the choir of St Marylebone) and awarded prizes by the BBC and Royal Philharmonic Society.
