A thank you for helping to Change Lives
St Marylebone Parish Church and its community partners are issuing a massive thank you to local people for helping to make its Christmas appeal an overwhelming success. Over 400 local families received either a child’s book for Christmas or a £50 voucher for an entire Christmas dinner.
Your donations were converted into vouchers at the local Daunt book shop and Waitrose on the Marylebone High Street and delivered by Chaplain Fr Jack and the team at St Marylebone Parish Church to many grateful recipients. The parish church’s friends and neighbours at the London Clinic also offered enormous support by creating additional food hampers and collecting books from a number of their suppliers.
St Marylebone Parish Church Chaplain Father Jack Noble said, “After a difficult year for a lot of people, it was wonderful to see the delight on so many faces and the real difference this project made to so many. Everyone I spoke to was totally overwhelmed by the generosity of our community. Thank you.”
Further good news then followed, with a match funding donation of £5,000 from the Church Revitalisation Trust, allowing the St Marylebone Parish Church and the London Clinic to continue to join forces and support more people into January. This donation went towards creating additional food hampers for frontline hospital staff and local families on free school meals. To help families develop their cooking skills on a budget, Executive Chef Paul O’Brien at of the Clinic hosted a selection of Zoom Cookery Masterclasses.
There was also an additional delivery of over 400 homemade sandwiches and cupcakes to the frontline staff working tirelessly at St Mary’s Hospital and University College London Hospitals during this difficult time.
